When trying to rename an older world of mine titled "Copy of Amusement Park", the game gave an error claiming that there was profanity in the name and it needed to be changed. After some confused attempts to rename the world, the profanity filter refuses to let me type the word "amusement". "Amuse" works fine, and after going letter by letter, I believe it is because the word "amusement" technically contains the letters 's' 'e' 'm' 'e' and 'n' together, which would more understandably qualify as a word needing filtering.
Steps to recreate:
- Attempt to rename an existing world (or name a new world) something containing the word "amusement".
- Watch the error appear stating something about the world name containing profanity or offensive language.
Expected Result: Nothing happens and you can name your Minecraft world anything containing the word "amusement", since it is not profanity.
Observed Result: "Amusement" triggers the profanity filter and therefore the world cannot be named that.
This has not been a problem in previous versions of the game, since the world was already named "amusement park" when I tried unsuccessfully to rename it.
"Amusement" is such an odd word to raise a profanity flag for, since it is not a swear, has nothing to do with anything inappropriate, and is even used in completely harmless statements such as "Amusement Park", which is another name for a Theme Park.
I have a feeling there are other words that have the same issue. Pokemon Black and White notoriously had this issue with an oversensitive profanity filter a while back, where completely innocent words that happened to technically contain other words in them got flagged, so the word "amusement" is probably only one of quite a lot of words that have this problem.
