When I teleported to a friend while gliding with the Elytra, the game acted like I was still in glide mode. When I jumped, I moved forward without pressing any buttons, slowly moved forwards when not moving, and could not cancel by jumping off of tall heights. I stopped the glide by doing a creative mode fly, but it then disabled glide mode completely and didn't fix until I died.
To reproduce: Fly out of loaded chunks, then teleport to a friend (they might need to be on the ground). You should be in hover mode while on the ground.
TL;DR: Glide into unloaded chunks and teleport to a friend to get stuck in glide mode until death.
1. Go to a high place, preferably y:255
2. Start gliding with an Elytra, go forwards at a small angle towards the ground so you accelerate
3. When the world around you isn't loaded, let yourself glide to ground level, y:64
4. When the chunk loading catches up, you'll be stuck in flight mode
