Steps to reproduce:
1-Go on survival
2-Take an item, any item
3-Drop the item on the floor
4-Quickly pause and unpause the game for many times
5-In a while, the item will pop back into your inventory and the item will still be on the ground.

MC-4247 putting items in chests in singleplayer, then quitly logging out will make the chest items revert to the way they were before you opened the chest, but your inventory will stay the say, thus deleting items (if done in reverse items can be duplicated)
