Across all biomes in game, and on all difficulties that spawn in hostile mobs, there is an issue with mobs spawning in for Minecraft Bedrock Edition. Mobs spawn in at incredibly fast yet, inconsistent rates.

The player can turn around in a dark area for even a few seconds and a hostile mob (or several) will spawn in. This usually only happens at night, and the spawning problem is avoidable because of this. However, in areas like the Nether, where there is no daylight cycle, and mob spawning criteria seems to be a constant, this issue becomes much more apparent.

It is especially egregious in the Soul Sand Valley biome of the Nether because of the abundance of skeletons spawning. The nether should be challenging, and should encourage players to be fully prepared in order to reap the benefits of exploring it. However, skeletons in large groups, especially when playing on a touch screen, or controller, whilst the player is slowed in quick sand, can feel unfair and annoying to play. This is to such a degree to where it discourages the player from even entering the Nether should they spawn in a Soul Sand biome.

I have tested this across multiple devices running Minecraft Bedrock, I have played with friends, and played on multiple difficulties. The majority of the experiences brought us to the conclusion that no one had fun and that this biome was balanced in such a way that too difficult to enjoy. (Keep in mind that non of these problems where as apparent on Java edition simply because of the spawn rates of skeletons).

Minecraft is supposed to have challenging aspects, and the Nether is supposed to feel intimidating and a little tough. However, unlike challenging parts of the game such as encountering a Warden deep underground, or even exploring other parts of the nether like Bastions, souls sand biomes don't feel engaging or rewarding enough to justify the frustration that comes with trying to traverse it in the Nether on Bedrock Edition.

A simple fix would be just to turn down the spawn frequency of skeletons in those biomes, or maybe fix the spawning issues in Bedrock entirely?

Until then, Minecraft survival modes's difficulty curve on Bedrock will have an abrupt and random spike in the flow of the game from beginning to end if the player has the misfortune of spawning in one of these biomes.
