Simply put, I lost a Loyalty, Mending, Impaling Trident in the Nether.. It was maybe my 3rd throw in a fight with a Ghast, and the trident simply did not return. I ran to the area where I threw it to see if it would return to me closer to where it [presumably] landed, but it never came to me, nor did I see it on the ground anywhere. Is it possible a piglin picked it up? There also was no lava lake nearby, so it couldn't have fallen into the lava lake (and even then, I believe it's still supposed to return, just with some fire damage- but my trident was full durability because of the mending enchant, so it should have survived that fire damage.)

This is simply very disappointing as this is my 2nd realm ever (I just started playing Minecraft this year) and I play on survival realms (hard mode, too), so that trident was the result of many, many hours of leveling, enchanting, and farming.

Is this a known issue that will be resolved? Or else can the loyalty enchant be removed if it cannot be used consistently? I'd used it for a few days (perhaps 100 throws); even a 1% rate of failure is unacceptable with this kind of enchantment, as I lost the item completely, expecting it to come back to me...

I do have a screenshot of where this happened, in the Nether. Of course it's not a very informative screenshot, but regardless, I've attached it below. Thanks for your help.
