In the beta versions that I have been testing since 1.18.20.23 and found an error with the Snowy biomes when one removes the snow with a bucket of water it is removed correctly but the problem is when the world is saved since there are times they appear snow inside one fragment and not in the other, I don't have as many tests but I think that with the images that I show it may help you and one thing does not appear that I am in the beta for a texture but in one of the images I deactivated the textures (In the image that world_icon is written is from when the world was saved and the others are when I opened them).
When the world was saved
After opening it
Since beta 1.18.20.23 I play a world that has snow, this is frequent that I remove the snow because it bothers when flattening the terrain, the problem comes when you save or move away from the previously loaded area and then return. I didn't update this incident because my world was created in a beta version and because I thought maybe it only happens in my world, I didn't update this incident. After a while I decided to create a world in 1.20+ with the same seed as my previous world in creative and make builds so when I went out and back into the world snow appeared where there wasn't any and it hadn't even snowed so I didn't want to update this incident because I didn't know how to reproduce it. Then I played in my survival world of beta 1.18.20.23, this incident happened to me again but without exiting the world with a series of steps before, I said - 0hh it doesn't snow again!! I'm going to move away to unload the chunks and wait for it to get dark and be able to sleep and for the snowfall to go away. I did all this later when I returned there was snow, the funny thing is that where there was snow many layers of snow were reduced into a single layer of snow and this is not something foreseen in the game, that is, the old snow disappears. and new ones appear again, so doing all that I came up with an idea to be able to produce this incident. Here I leave some images of a world created on 1.20.15 and videos.
Steps to reproduce:
- Create a world (in creative or survival I recommend in creative to speed up the steps) in the latest version currently is 1.20.15
Seed: 933362424
- Put water in a radius of 200x200 (this is just a reference to get an idea)
- Remove the water
- put layers of snow and flowers at coordinates 395 66 161 in a 5x5 radius
- give bed, elytra, fireworks
- put on survival
- Yes, it is night, make it day and then make it rain, that is, make it snow
- move away a considerable distance so that the chunk is unloaded and snow is not generated (you can go to the coordinates 614 88 -2)
- Set time to sunset
- put the bed
- wait a while like 10 seconds (this is just a reference)
- then lie on the bed
- once dawn and remove the bed, return to the coordinates 395 66 161
Here is a video which reproduces from step 4 ( play from step 4.mp4 )
Observed results:
a large amount of snow appears even if the chunk was previously unloaded when the storm started or when the world was saved without snowing as shown in beta (1.18.20.23).
when you walk away from a chunk in the middle of a storm
after leaving the world
Expected results:
the chunk doesn't contain a lot of snow or it doesn't contain any snow as it was downloaded the chunk remains or when you save the world and re-enter it remains exactly as you left it
