The lighting bug that was supposed to be fixed in the nether update persists. It occurs along chunk borders and as soon as a block is updated in one of those areas it fixes it. I play without the smooth light setting, but I don't imagine that would make a big difference. It's incredibly frustrating, as mobs are spawning on the block next to my torch and half the time I can't even see where I am, because the lighting suddenly stops halfway through anything I build. This bug was supposedly fixed but I still encounter it multiple times a day whenever I log into my world. Reloading the world doesn't seem to correct them, and areas that I updated the blocks in return to their half lit state when the chunk they're on reloads, which makes me believe it's an error with loading the terrain properly, as light that runs from one chunk to the other isn't loaded properly.
