Latest Java version, just installed it to make sure it wasn't the cause, deleted %appdata% and redownloaded it, Windows 10 computer, 64 bit operating system.

When loading a version of Minecraft in version 15w39c or higher, the game will act fine until attempting to load any singleplayer or multiplayer world, at which point it will crash. The only exception is that when loading the void world preset, the world acts fine until attempting to break or place a block, at which point it immediately crashes. The crash report that appears in the launcher is:
