I apologize if this is considered a repost... i saw issues posted for fences and trapdoors but those seem like strange things to want to have grass paths under... they were also labeled as NOT AN ISSUE, which i totally agree with... because again... why would you put a fence in the middle of a path? or a trap door hovering over a path?...
fence GATES however... should not turn grass paths into dirt in my honest opinion... gates are usually always used with paths... whether they be stone.. gravel.. sand... brick... or any other type of path...
gates and paths both lead to places...
for people building things with grass paths and fence gates of any kind will probably get very frustrated when the nice grass path they had been leading up to a cottage only to have it stop because fence gate turns that one block back into dirt...
a possible work around is to just put a cobble stone block under the gate and continue the grass path on the other side to make it seem... slightly... less... unsightly...

Again i apologize if this is considered a duplicate or if i have done something wrong (this is my first bug report here...) but i really felt the urge to report this.
