If a piston is underneath a redstone block two blocks above with air in between the piston will activate.
What I expected to happen was...:
The piston would not extend
What actually happened was...:
the piston extends but only if the piston was placed after the redstone block but if it was placed before, any block update will extend it
Steps to Reproduce:
(Use picture reference if needed)
Piston placed after redstone block
1. place a redstone block one block above the place you want to place the piston.
2. place piston one block under redstone block.
Piston placed before redstone block and receives any block update
1. place piston.
2. place redstone block two blocks over the piston without placing any blocks directly next to the piston.
3. block update the piston in any way
