The bug
In all previous versions, the credits screen would gradually fade in at the beginning. As of 24w09a this no longer happens.
This may be intentional to make the transition more seamless with entering an end portal, but it causes a disparity when using the Programmer Art resource pack.
How to fix
Introduce a dedicated texture file for fading in the credits. It would initially display at full opacity, and slowly transition to 0 opacity. In the default textures, this image would be completely transparent as to maintain a seamless transition, but Programmer Art would define a visible such texture as to keep the fade effect from prior versions.
