The bug
In Programmer Art, the credits now use the menu_background.png texture, which as a file is visually darker than the preceding options_background.png file (a copy of the dirt texture which was darkened by the game code). As a result, the credits background in Programmer Art is darker than it was previously, an unannounced change and a likely oversight.
How to fix
Introduce a dedicated credits_background.png texture file, which would be a copy of the current dirt texture with no changes applied to the brightness, and use this for the credits background in Programmer Art. This would alleviate conflicts like this (and possibly resolve some other issues with the credits background).
