I have tested Minecraft chunk loading before and after 1.18 and seemingly the new deep dark caves and high mountains affect my laptop performance in loading the chunk because before 1.18 (1.17-lower). when i create new world, my performance is doing perfect with slight stutter at start and then smooth framerate, but in 1.18 and 1.19 every time I joined my survival world it takes a long time for the crazy amount of stutter to stop and fully render all the existing chunks not just the new one which really devastated. how a simple game with low spec requirements can do such stutter by just loading and rendering chunks and it require performance mods to remove this effect but not all of them since some of them are still there. So please Mojang in 1.20 try fix this performance issue. I don't have a video proof of the stutter but as i said before i have tested each Minecraft version.
For my laptop as proof that I'm using high spec gaming laptop is Asus TUF Dash F15 with RTX 3070, 16GB RAM, etc.
