The Bug
Pointed dripstone was recently added to Bedrock Edition in the latest beta, and like solid blocks actually produces a shadow around it. This shadow is not present in Java Edition resulting in this parity issue. Bedrock Edition screenshots sourced from a video by wattles
Steps to Reproduce
- Ensure that you have "Smooth Lighting" enabled in your video settings.
- Summon a square of white concrete below your feet.
/fill ~9 ~-1 ~9 ~-9 ~-1 ~-9 minecraft:white_concrete
- Summon some pointed dripstone.
/fill ~1 ~ ~1 ~1 ~7 ~1 minecraft:pointed_dripstone
- Look around the base of the pointed dripstone.
- Take note as to whether or not pointed dripstone produces any shadows.
Observed Behavior
Pointed dripstone doesn't produce any shadows.
Expected Behavior
Pointed dripstone would produce shadows.
