      The Bug

Pointed dripstone was recently added to Bedrock Edition in the latest beta, and like solid blocks actually produces a shadow around it. This shadow is not present in Java Edition resulting in this parity issue. Bedrock Edition screenshots sourced from a video by wattles

      Steps to Reproduce

      • Ensure that you have "Smooth Lighting" enabled in your video settings.
      • Summon a square of white concrete below your feet.

      • Summon some pointed dripstone.
        /fill ~1 ~ ~1 ~1 ~7 ~1 minecraft:pointed_dripstone

      • Look around the base of the pointed dripstone.
      • Take note as to whether or not pointed dripstone produces any shadows.
