    Description

      The bug

When you right click redstone ore with a block that cannot be placed, because a player or mob is standing there, it doesn’t play the hand animation. If you right click it with a block that can’t be placed, because it needs support (for example when trying to place a lantern without a block underneath or above it so that is would float), it also doesn’t play the hand animation. However if you try to place a block on it, when the position is occupied by a different block, the hand animation does play. Also affects the new deepslate redstone ore.

      How to reproduce

      1. Place a redstone ore
      2. Hold a solid block in your hand, for example stone
      3. Look at the redstone
      4. Stand close to the redstone ore, so that you can’t place the block, but still target the redstone ore
      5. Right click
The hand animation didn’t play, even though the redstone ore was activated and it emitted particles
