      Hi,

Not sure if this is a bug or just some much needed troubleshooting. Feel free to move the post or whatever. I couldn't find anything similar after searching around.

Today I opened the minecraft launcher for the first time since I played during 1.14.4. There was no option for the latest release (or older releases for that matter) and the only versions I had to choose from were three older snapshots, 1.14.4, and optifine 1.14.4.

After trying to resolve this and failing to launch anything beyond version 1.14.4 I uninstalled/reinstalled the launcher, rebooted PC, and many other attempts to get it to work, but every time I would open the launcher my only version option was 1.14.4.

I uninstalled again, deleted .minecraft folder, and downloaded a final time. This was apparently a huge mistake. Now, after reinstalling the launcher I have zero versions of minecraft installed. I checked the .minecraft folder and now it only contains the webcache folder, launcher_log, launcher_profiles.json, and launcher_settings.json. There is no versions folder or any of the other usual folders. I thought perhaps these had been moved to the program files (x86) where minecraft launcher was installed, but don't see them there either.

I've included a screenshots of : my minecraft launcher folder under program files (x86), my .minecraft folder, my launcher and the lack of versions it offers (latest snapshot and latest release are options, but they don't do anything, because no versions exist for it to grab from.), and lastly a screenshot of my installations page where you can see no versions are available to select for my profiles. Whenever I try to just click play I get the message from the final screenshot which is not a very helpful message. Check configuration? What configuration? How?

I've tried reinstalls, installing on a different harddrive, repairs ( the option the minecraft download gives when you already have launcher installed), and every other thing I can think of or been suggested to try, and nothing works.

I was able to play minecraft 1.16.3, thankfully, by downloading MultiMC and launching it that way. It's a nice work around, but I would prefer to be able to use the actual MC launcher if possible. Any help or insight is appreciated and thank you for your time.
