The issue I am having is that in the launcher when I go to choose a version of Minecraft from in the installation tab and I click new before I reinstalled Minecraft to try to fix the problem it would only show versions of Minecraft I had already on the computer.   

I don't know what is causing it but if I had to guess when it started happening it would be around the release of 1.16.1

if  you need any more information I would be happy to give

i tryed everything in  MCL-14369 but i did not work
