Notes: This is NOT a duplicate of MC-70111, but IS a duplicate of MC-138465. The reason I am posting a duplicate is because MC-138465 was closed incorrectly on the assumption of being a duplicate thread.
MC-70111 only occurs in multiplayer worlds, while this occurs in singleplayer worlds. Additionally, the issue at hand itself is different. The previous bug dealt with ender pearls disappearing, but this issue is with ender pearls persisting and losing their linked player metadata. (Forgive me if that's the wrong term)
Recreation steps:
Throw an ender pearl up, log out before it hits the ground.
Relog. You can see the ender pearl still, and check its data and it is no longer linked to the player.
Upon the pearl reaching the ground, nothing will happen because it doesn't know you are the owner.
This makes long-distance teleportation significantly more difficult to use in an effective way, since you can't log out of your world without losing your teleport points.
