Whenever you accidentally hurt a villager because you were trying to break a block and they ran right in front of you, it's impossible to raise your reputation either through trading or defending from a raid and getting the hero of the village buff. I have done over a hundred trades with my village and their prices are still way too high, and the iron golems all still want me dead.
