If a player has full armor when someone else logs on the Lan world, They will see his armor even when he takes it off. This also happends if a player logs on with no armor, and takes it on while his logged in. The armor and equped items don't seem to update for other players. You will always see the armor and equiped item they had when they first logged in, or when you logged in. (When the entity was made)
