Sleeping in a bed will get you a sort of "stuck". The proper amount of time will pass you'd expect when you use the bed, but after that you are shifted into the ground next to the bed, just laying right next to it, and you are unable to leave. If you click the Leave Bed button, it will just remove the cursor from the command bar. Clicking escape will allow you to access the command bar (clicking on it after clicking on the leave button will do nothing), to which my solution is to /kill to get out. /kick works as well, but is less efficient to me. Once you exit this 'sleep paralysis', the time of day has not changed; it's still the same time as you got in bed, Effectively removing the ability to sleep through the night. I've had the bed surrounded by and not surrounded by carpet, it doesn't seem to change anything.
