Accessing Minecraft realms crashes the Java Client

      I tried to load Minecraft realms on 1.16 version of minecraft java edition and it crashes before i get to any screen.
      The error given is 

      The game crashed whilst rendering screen
      Error: java.lang.NullPointerException: Rendering screen

      Is this just because Minecraft java edition is 1.16 and Realms has not been updated?
