I get randomly disconnected when playing on realms with the error: "Internal Exception: java.netSocketException: Connection reset". I can play on normal servers completely fine, the only thing effected by this is realms. Whether or not the game is modded makes no difference. I've tried using both official and 3rd party launchers with no success. I've also tried installing minecraft in a virtual machine and the same issue occurs. I've also tried using a vpn which also had no effect. Realms does however work perfectly fine on my laptop running linux. Tried for a solid day to troubleshoot this problem with no success.
