Villagers will lock on a workbench or a bed and if they can't pathfind to it, they will still be locked in it (especially the bed) and won't try to find another one thats closer. Also they can pathfind to a station or a bed that is more than 50 blocks away (not sure if thats a bug, but i think thats very far). I think the villagers should not be able to link in any station/bed if they are not able to pathfind on it. I'm not sore, but I think thats how works on java as well.
