Issue:
When on an iOS device with dark mode enabled the keyboard does not update the dark mode type. Due note that this is not a fault of Apple as every developer has to add in the support themselves, (which is incredibly easy to do from what I found online.)
Expected:
When dark mode is enabled they keyboard should pop up as the dark mode keyboard not the light mode keyboard.
Replicate:
1. Go onto an iOS/iPadOS device and turn on dark mode. (Go into Control Centre and open the brightness platter. Tap the Dark Mode option on.)
2. Open any keyboard with a native app on iOS/iPadOS observing the dark mode keyboard. (Easiest way to do this is to just be on the home screen and swipe down to bring up search, it automatically pops up they keyboard for easy observation.)
3. Open Minecraft and tap something that uses the keyboard. (Signs, Chat, World Names, Marketplace Search, Creative Inventory, etc..)
4. Observe that the keyboard is not the dark type as it should be.
Notes:
I have tried to look online for the kit/information to allow this setting to take hold within the app but am unsuccessful. I am not a app developer and don’t have the resources to find/know how this stuff works. All I know is that it is a think Mojang has to enable themselves. If anyone can provide more information please do below.
I have attached an image showing the dark mode keyboard natively on iOS/iPadOS and also an image of Minecraft’s keyboard with dark mode enables, which is unchanged from light mode.
Fixed in 1.16.0.
