I am a dynamic texture package maker.
When I set num_mip_levels to 0 or 1 in terrain_texture.json. The dynamic texture map in the distance will remain dynamically instead of become the static texture map.
However,closely observe the blocks， black lines appear at the edges of many textures in the game（see the picture:black lines on the water,glowstone,sand,leaves.....).
The black lines at the edges of the following blocks are especially noticeable when set num_mip_levels to 0 or 1.
There is another rendering problem worth mentioning:
texture maps that do not modify the num_mip_levels value will have a slight offset（see the picture:wood).please see carefully.
In addition to setting the num_mip_levels value, I don't know if there are other ways to set the dynamic texture to display as a dynamic map in the distance instead of statically. So i found the problems above.
I hope mojang can fix this serious problem which made us feel very sad, thank you very much! We believe Minecraft will be better！
