If you eat whilst going through a nether portal, you are teleported to the coordinates that you would have gone to in the nether, but in the overworld instead. This has happened to two different players on our Realm so far. 

It has only happened when people have been eating and I have yet to test what happens if you are already in the nether when you try it.
