I posted this bug in the wrong forum so this will be a repost, my bad.

I'm currently playing Minecraft beta on my Xbox One, and in the most recent updates (1.12.0.9) I've noticed that Zombies wearing armor, when turned into Drowned, seem to drop all their armor completely undamaged. I wasn't entirely sure if this was intentional or a bug so I went to an all-flat world so I could further investigate.

It seems that Zombies who are turned into Drowned not only drop their armor completely undamaged, but it also works with enchanted armor, weapons and tools. One thing that caught my attention though was that Zombies wearing Chain-mail armor ended up dropping leather armor instead, which made no sense.

If you guys could provide an explanation that'd be cool. It's not a game breaking bug, but it's something I can imagine exploiting in the future.

Edit: At the time I had a weird texture pack enabled so I confused Chain-mail with white-dyed leather armor. But even when the zombie drops it, the leather isn't even dyed.
