Mobs spawning in lit areas

      For the past few weeks everything's been working honky dory, I have a giant man-made village all lit up, been using it for weeks. I go to the nether and realize the 50 pigmen just outside the portal are keeping the wither skeletons from spawning. So I set the game difficulty to peaceful, and then back to normal. This does the trick and I now see withers spawning, which previously had basically been extinct. 

      So I go back to the over-world and there's a skeleton by my house, very weird. Everything around my house and the artificial village has been lit up since we built it and no one has ever seen an enemy spawn within the fencing. Now, they are there every night. Constant enemies spawning in the base and around it despite the light level. I tried reloading the Realms server, but no luck. Anyone have any suggestions before this can get patched? The villager population is slowly dying off from this and it's aggravating.
