There seems to be some sort of bug regarding lighting or block textures resulting in blocks occasionally displaying as an opaque gray color instead of their desired texture.

Trying to play through several worlds in single player Ikeep encountering the same problem in which many different blocks appear as an opaque solid gray color rather than their intended texture. This directly inhibits core gameplay features such as resource gathering and building. It appears to occur more in areas where many different blocks are present ie; while mining all blocks within a given area are gray and indistinguishable from one another, in forests the trees often display as gray, in villages many of the houses that feature trap doors as decorations, the list goes on. I've tried creating new seeds and changing render distance to no avail. Occasionally breaking or placing blocks within the affected area provides a temporary fix but the problem always comes back. Quite oddly this bug only seems to affect the four sides of a block. Top and bottom as well as non block textures such as the various flora and foliage are completely unaffected. Any insight to this problem or the acknowledgement that a fix can be worked on would be greatly appreciated as currently the game is largely unplayable for me.
