I wanted to transfer a nostalgic world from my old iPad to my iPad mini 4, let’s call that world, “CAVERN.” I updated Minecraft on my old iPad to the newest version and everything ran pretty smoothly. I opened CAVERN to see if it still worked on 1.7.0, and it did. After creating the realm and uploading CAVERN, I went on my iPad mini and entered the Realm. It loaded successfully and I was on the world, CAVERN. So I downloaded it and tried to open it, but it said, “A newer version of the game as saved this level. It cannot be loaded. Unable to connect to world.” Minecraft on both iPads were on 1.7.0. I uploaded a world on my iPad mini to the Realm and open it on my old iPad, it worked fine. I downloaded it to my old iPad and it gave me the exact same massage as before. To sum it up... if a world from either iPad were put on Realms, the Realms world could be played on either iPad, but downloading the world onto another iPad that world didn’t originate from, it’ll give the error message. I only have those two iPads available though.
UPDATE! I uploaded a world from my mini to Realms and then downloaded it back onto my mini. I got the same message, “A newer version of the game has saved this level
Extra details and other things I tried:
- The iPad mini 4 is on IOS 11.4.1.
- The old iPad is on IOS 10.3.3 (can’t update any further).
- Uploading CAVERN from the old iPad to Realms then downloading it onto the iPad mini 4 then uploading the copy to realms and downloading it back onto the iPad mini 4 says the same message.
- I made CAVERN into an infinite world on the iPad mini 4 and it gave the same message.
- Snapshot included.
