Hello,
It looks like in a recent update (might have been 0.16 or 0.17 onwards), the rules on when a creeper explodes have changed, particularly around line-of-sight.
I attached two images of structures that I've always used in the past (on Pocket Edition as well as the Minecraft Console edition) to attack creepers. The graphs are from the point of view of looking horizontally (and you can imagine this same cross-section extending for several blocks). The green line indicates where the player would be standing, and the red line indicates where the creeper would be standing. In the past, a player could attack the creeper safely from this position, without the possibility of the creeper exploding.
In a recent update though, this formation causes the creeper to explode when the player gets close.. as if the creeper can see right through the blocks.
Could someone comment on that? Thanks!
