Driving a boat into a bubble column will kick the player out of the boat and the boat will rise/sink very slowly compared to other entities. it is easier to see with soul sand

How to replicate:
1. Make a bubble column with soul sand
2. place a boat
3. Drive the boat into the bottom of the bubble column
4. the player will be kicked out of the boat and will go up the bubble column at normal speed but the boat will rise slowly
