Died due to kinetic energy flying in a cave. Hit a stalagtite on the ceiling which killed me dispite my totem (hit the pointed dripstone, died, totem activated, then still died to kinetic energy. Don't think it was a bug but a strange interaction anyway).
Go to retrieve my stuff and everything EXCEPT my equipped armor (including elytra) was there. 
Checked above the cave, below, killed every mob around on the off chance it had been picked up. Nada.
All my equipped stuff was just gone. Only the armor; head, chest, legs, boots.
Literally every other item in my inventory was on the ground and I picked them up. Honestly heartbreaking cause that was my max set.
