The game crashes when placing sign on floating sand

What I expected to happen was...:
The sand falls and the sign breaks

What actually happened was...:
When I placed the sign the game crashed

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Locate some floating sand.
2. Place a sign on the floating sand.
3. Watch the game crash.
