Essentially, CORAL BLOCKS, (not coral itself) specificaly cannot be placed on the side of blocks if there is air beneath it. You can place the blocks normally on the ground, but as soon as there is an air block beneath it, It cannot be placed.

This also applies to slabs, stairs, trapdoors, carpets, decorated pots, chains. end rods, lightning rods, mob heads,  both azaleas, water, and anything that isn't a full block essentially. HOWEVER, It does work if the slab is the upper slab, and not the lower slab, and the same goes with stairs

Normally, you can crouch and place a block on one of the blocks (minus the water because it'll get rid of the water) and it'll work, placing the block above it in the correct position., or just placing it on the side of a block. However, this for some reason requires a full block below it, (Or the slabs and stairs when in a right position) in order to place.

TO RECREATE IT: As a demonstration, just simply create a 1x2 pillar of any block. Then take a coral block, and another block of your choice, and place it on the side of the upper block. The random block will work normally, however the coral block will not.

This isn't a big issue, as coral is not used much and isn't game breaking like other bugs, and is just a little pain in the behind.

This is my first bug report and not sure on how to do this right, but the bug is prevelant on the most updated version of minecraft on my xbox.
