Xbox
Steps to reproduce
- Open Minecraft bedrock on xbox series x while using an xbox controller
- Open chat and click “a” to open the keyboard and type in the keyboard that pops up
- Place a sign and type in the keyboard that pops up
- If you open any kind of chat or item where you type (anvil, game chat, sign, command block, ect.) this same issue will occur
Expected result
When using the chat, whatever you type should go directly into the chat bar. And when placing a sign the text should go directly onto the sign. In all cases, whatever you type should be put into the game directly and not into the xbox on screen keyboard.
Observed result
When typing in game ( such as in the chat, on a sign, in a command block, ect.) the text goes into a text bar above the xbox on screen keyboard instead of into the in-game chat bar/sign overview. This requires you to press the enter button a lot more times than needed (should be once), and because of this, it makes it difficult to edit commands and what you chat. This also makes it impossible to edit sign once you “enter” past a line. And when using the “§” character when typing it is not possible to see the effect that it has on text. For example “§4” followed by text should make text red, but you are unable to see this.
