Render distance stuck on 16 after 1.18

      When I upgraded to 1.18, I got asking if I wanted to keep my game on 32 chunk render, or switch it to 13. I selected 32, but when I loaded up my world, I noticed that it defeintly wasn’t 32 chunks. Something much lower. So I set up a pillar, and counted the blocks until it disappeared, and yes I was right. I was stuck on 16 chunks. I tried editing the options.txt file, but nothing works. This is very annyoing since large worlds ran perfectly fine on 32 chunks, 120hz.
