Hello Mojang
I understand that making diamonds a little harder to find does make the game more challenging, but I think you may have gotten a bit too far in this direction.
I have been strip mining between coordinates 6 and 16 (and everything in between) for over 4 hours, and I have a grand total of 3 diamonds.... This makes the game virtually impossible. I cannot create any diamond tools (other than the pickaxe I made with the 3 diamonds I found) and no diamond armor, and without these items I am hesitant to progress further into the game. I'm serious, 4 hours, 3 diamonds.
This is inherently unfair. I am a father of 3 children, and have limited time to play games. I have a full time job and it has made the game almost unplayable for me since I can only play a few hours a week. I was very much looking forward to the Caves and Cliffs update, but now with how difficult it is to find diamonds, I cannot get to the points in the game where I want to in the limited timeframe I have to play the game. I am willing to dedicate time to mining and gathering the necessary material, but the number of diamonds available makes this very frustrating.
I think there needs to be some balance. Again, I understand if you wanted to make diamonds a bit more rare in the game, but I am a very organized miner, and have mined a number of chunks in the new game I started after the update came out, and to only have 3 diamonds to show for it after 4 hours of mining is very frustrating to say the least.
Please consider balancing out the number of diamonds available in the game with the next update. Not all of us can spend 8-10 hours every other day trying to find diamonds. It really sucks the initiative to continue playing this game when a necessary resource is so incredibly difficult to find.
Thank you for your time.
