Essentially, I've been playing on servers on the latest non-beta version, and for so long, I though my character creator-made skin appeared properly to other players. After getting a sneaking suspicion, I asked on the server I was on whether my skin appeared as a steve or an alex, and the reply was yes. Thinking it was because they might have the "only allow trusted skins" on, I went onto other servers, and asked the same. Although, I would skip one if the character creator skin appeared glitched, emeaning either as a solid color, or as a steve or alex, even in first person. Every time, the response was that I looked like steve in-game. Because it is unlikely that every server would use the same plugins, even any that affect skins, I don't think it's caused by the server. I've even once played with a friend on a server, and they, too, used a character creator skin, and also appeared as a default skin.
A side note: most of the servers I tested this with were the featured servers.
Steps to reproduce:
- Create, or equip a character creator skin
- Go onto a server, preferably one that doesn't glitch the skin even in first person, or on the paper doll (if enabled)
- Find out whether your skin looks like a default skin, either by getting a friend on, another instance, or asking other players
Expected results
The skins made with the character creator work fine, and appear as they should to other players, at least to ones with only allow trusted skins off
Observed results
Character creator skins appear as steve, alex, or the server's default skin to other players.
