I’m trying to play on my Realm with my friends, but randomly, the game will slow to a crawl. It affects transiting from the Overworld to the Nether (about 30 seconds, almost died to a zombie attack while it was loading), and anything that requires an inventory.

When I open a chest, check a furnace, use a crafting table, or just open my inventory, the game will pop up with a loading bar that takes literal minutes to load. I can move freely when this happens, but I don’t think I can interact with most objects like doors. It also takes me minutes to pull up the menu. I timed it: it took 7 minutes for the menu to come up, 5 minutes for the game to confirm that I did in fact select “Save and Quit.”

I checked my internet, and the Switch did a speed test with no issues. It’s not blazing, but it reports 20 Mbps, which is sufficient to play more demanding games like Splatoon
