Trying to find out why keyboard isn’t working. Seems Mojang is not wanting to give an explanation or doesn’t have an explanation and just isn’t wanting to do their job. Many tickets have been created that all have been pointed to MCPE-51263. That say to follow that ticket. Then that ticket was closed saying it’s working as designed. If it’s working as designed then why is there a keyboard settings section of the settings where you can set certain keyboard mappings. If that was the design to allow that to be in there but never actually take that input in game then that’s a stupid design.

However I don’t think that is by design because you wouldn’t put in the UI for it if you didn’t intend it to work. And it’s been in there for a while so I don’t think it’s a setting that was implemented before the full feature was released/available.

Can we get at least a worth while answer as to why it’s not working and if it ever will work? It would be nice to get an actual answer instead of a runaround and then just closing the main ticket. I like the game and would like to be able to play it with a keyboard since that’s what the settings show. If it wasn’t intended to use a keyboard on iOS devices or PE altogether then the settings for keyboard should be removed so that it doesn’t look like you should be supporting it.

Hopefully someone will actually answer this instead of just pointing to the main ticket which is already closed and no real answer was actually given. Or reopen the main ticket with a real answer.
