When changing my primary email address (due to a change of my last name) of my Microsoft account, I'm no longer able to play Minecraft. The launcher does not know about my bought license or some internal error occurs because there is an endless loop between (Play offline and play demo) with an occuring error message of "Oh no! Something went wrong, and we couldn't connect to the Minecraft services. Try again"

I found that someone else had the same problem in #20797 but it was not resolved.

It seems weird that a general Microsoft feature would not be supported here. Is there any way to resolve this issue other than using my old email address (with the wrong last name) as primary?

Update: Log file screenshot showing an error attached.

Update 2: Using the old launcher for Windows 7/8 works. Even tough the primary email is still the new one.

For everyone also readying this issue and having similar issues. Be aware that Microsoft limits switching your primary email to twice a week!
