Not sure what I should put in "Affects Version".
I'm on Mac.
I have the latest version of Java and have played Minecraft with no issue yesterday for the first time in a long time. Although, when I first started up the MC Launcher, it gave me the error "Whoops! Something went terribly wrong and you probably encountered a bug." When
Tried launching MC today, the icon on my dock briefly turned dark, and nothing happened (no dark dot below the app either). Any attempt to open it again or quit the launcher did nothing. I restarted the computer fully and this time it loaded, but the "java" window for the game itself was not automatically selected. After closing or minimizing other apps blocking the game, I found that if I hovered over the start menu the buttons would become highlighted white (as they are supposed to) but would not respond to any clicks (and the window would not select).
Restarted my computer again, once more the icon on my dock briefly turned dark, and nothing happened. I looked in Activity Monitor and it showed the launcher was open (even though there was no indication of that). Removed all Minecraft files off the computer (except the world saves) from library/Application Support and now the launcher is giving me the same exact prompt ("Whoops! Something went terribly wrong and you probably encountered a bug") as it did yesterday on first startup.
It's really not ideal for me to have to restart my computer every time I want to play Minecraft, would someone please help me resolve this issue?
