I was having a problem playing the latest version of Minecraft at the time (1.16.2) and the launcher kept telling me that 1.15.1 was the latest version of MC when 1.16 was already a couple of weeks released. I uninstalled the Launcher and reinstalled it through Minecraft's website and to my surprise did not fix the problem but only make it worse, now there are NO versions of MC appearing in my launchers version dropdown menu. Yes i am aware of creating a new version in the launcher by clicking on the little plus sign and selecting a version i would like to play on, but the thing is that NONE of them pop up now. No matter how many times i uninstall and reinstall minecraft, sign in sign out, try downloading the MC versions separately into the minecraft files, they dont seem to appear for me anymore. Is there any work around or fix that somebody could help me with? I dont see this problem being addressed at all anywhere so i have no idea what it could be or how to deal with it.
Attached below or above are pictures of my problem and the version of the launcher that wont seem to update (even though I repair it and uninstall and reinstall)
Thanks
