Stairs and Doors vanish when chunk is reloaded

What I expected to happen was...:
Describe what you thought should happen here:
When i left my home base i suspected that when i come back everything will be normal but to my surprise all my stair cases where gone and so where my doors.

What actually happened was...:
Describe what happened here:
I left my base and went out for wood and logs i went pretty far so the chunks unloaded and when i came back all my stairs and doors where gone and i could get the doors back by updating the block but my stairs vanished and there was a lighting glitch where they were that i had to update with a torch to fix.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. put stairs and/or doors down
2. leave the game or unload the chunks
3. return to where you placed them/load the chunks
4. and doors should be gone and stairs with a lighting glitch
