I was playing on a "redstone ready" world, but also tried this on a regular world and seemed to work too.

So what i did was I placed a sticky piston piston (works with a regular piston as well) and then a piston rotated 90 degrees facing the 1st piston. I powered them both but the 1st one was powered from the top (block then redstone on top) And the one that was rotated had a tick delay of 4. Then from the original piston I put any block on the side of it (the other side had the rotated piston) I turned it on then It pushed a Stick piston out but the original piston was still there, and it looked like the extended pistons where crisscrossing, then turned it off and then the piston it pushed out turned into whatever I placed on the side. This is very annoying I must say.
