      This seems to be a game-wide issue that affects all copies of Minecraft. Basically, it's the fact that when a light source melts Ice naturally, the Ice will turn into a water source block regardless of the placement conditions of said Ice. I know that when a player breaks Ice, it will only become a source of water when there is a solid block below the broken Ice, otherwise it will disappear. Ice melted by things such as Glowstone and torches does not discriminate in this way. A similar bug I've found listed here has noted that these source blocks created in this way also stand still and will not flow in any direction until an adjacent block receives an update; this is also likely a bug, but not the one I am trying to address.

      I would like to request at least a simple jurisdiction over whether this is actually a bug or an intended feature. Both sides can be argued, but I personally find this to be very annoying at times and illogical at others.

      (My humblest apologies if this is a duplicate. My research turned up nothing of this sort, so I felt compelled to bring it up.)
