When you right click with a Leather cap in your hand it freezes

What I expected to happen was...:
Nothing
What actually happened was...:
it frose then blacked out then brought up a crash report
Steps to Reproduce:
1. have a leather cap in your hand
2. look at a block as if you were going to place something on it
3. right click with the leather cap in your hand
